Lockdown effect on the children I was going through today’s (June 11/2020) The Kathmandu Post and my eyes were focused on Shubham Dhungana’s interesting article about the effect of on-going lockdown on the children. I have a 11 years old granddaughter who is in class Six at a private school. She is attending on-line classes starting from eight o’clock in the morning to one o’clock in the afternoon with one hour gap in each one hour session. Both my wife and I have teaching background which has been a plus point for us to guide and engage her with caution. She is enjoying her on-line classes and has upgraded her reading, writing and speaking skills. We let her talk to her friends over Viber to be in touch with them. We let her watch television and encourage her to listen to music and songs to her liking and dance if she feels doing so. This may not possible for all the children and their parents.
