Mystery remains

                       The Himalayan Times 18 April 2019 Mystery remains Since the restoration of democracy in 1990, most of the senior political leaders of the major political parties have made lots of promises. Some promises were fulfilled. However, most of their promises remain to be fulfilled. One of them was the Melamchi Drinking Water Project, a highly ambitious project launched in December 2000 to quench the thirst of Kathmandu’s inhabitants, which is still incomplete and uncertain if the project will be completed in near future. Likewise, there are other national priority projects which are yet to be completed. What could be the possible reasons for these terrible irresponsible acts? Did this happen because of the ineffectiveness of the past and present governments? Were man-made hurdles intentionally put for delaying the completion of such projects ...

The Himalayan Times 11 April 2019 Resolve problem soon We used to face many strikes and bandh called by sister organizations of the political parties in the past to press the government to fulfill their demands. Many sick and elderly people lost their lives on the way to hospitals due to these irresponsible and insensible acts. The political leadership in the country was occupied by senior leaders of major political parties following the restoration of democracy. But the common people were one way or the other had to suffer mentally, physically and economically due to the irresponsible behaviour of the political parties. The nation is now a republic and has entered the federal structure since the last two years. The government has restructured the civil servants’ positions and location based on the need of this structure as per the constitution.
