Four new minsters

PM K.P.Oli inducted for the second time four new minsters in his cabinet on Monday. Among them, 2 from his party and the other 2 from CPN-MC. Dr. Yubraj Khatiwada has been given the responsibility of Finance Minister who is known as one of the fine person with lots of experiences on designing of development programs, financial management and monetary economics. He had served as Nepal Rastra Bank governor. It is hoped with the nomination of Dr. Khatiwada as the Finance Minister that effective programs related to improving the degrading economic situation of the country will be implemented. However, he will have to become a member of the Federal Parliament within six months of being sworn in as a minister. It is yet to been as to how the Oli led government will tackle this sensitive issue.

Unification deal

The Himalayan Times 22 February 2018 Unification deal Nepal witnessed several ups and downs in its political environment in the last 67 years. The country was declared Republic in April 2008 by the first Constitutional Assembly meeting abolishing the 240 year old monarchy. The New constitution was promulgated by the second Constitutional Assembly in September 2015   and is now in full swing in its implementation soon after the completion of three tiers of elections. Local level elections were held in a gap of 20 years. Accordingly, local governments have started functioning for the last nine months despite of limited budget, human resources crunch and inadequate infrastructures. Provincial governments are in a process of taking their full shapes. Likewise, federal government is on the way to lead the country.
