HELLO NEPAL

I am so anxious and desperate to have the copy of new constitution in my hand. But the so called big parties of new Republic Nepal do not seem capable of fulfilling the dreams of shawa 2 crore Nepali people. They missed the dead line today of coming to consensus on major issues such as federalism, forms of governance, electoral system and judiciary. Instead, the oppositions have started flexing their muscles saying they will not accept the new constitution if it does not include their demands. How come then will it be possible to draft the new constitution within the dead line if they continue to stick to their guns? What are we waiting for, another sambhidan sabha or disintegration of Nepal? Don’t get me wrong. Feel it for yourself and tell me what are you going to do.

The Himalayan Times 18 October 2014 No consensus Looking closely at the ongoing political wrangling inside and outside the CA, it does not seem that the parties will be able to reach consensus on major issues of the new constitution. This is with reference to the news story “Deal not possible in next three days: Dahal (THT, 15 Oct, Page 1). How will it be possible for them to agree on these issues if they continue to stick to their guns rather than arriving at a compromise? Federalism, forms of governance, electoral system and judiciary are among the main issues to be sorted out among them. What will happen if they failed to reach an agreement is yet to be seen. They need to be sincere to sort out their political differences at the earliest possible. Otherwise, it would be too late for them to correct their blunders and ultimately it is the nation and the people will bear the brunt of their mishandling of constitutional issues. It seems to me until today that our so called political netas are going to miss the deadline for preparing the draft of new constitution by 16 Oct. It is yet to see whether they will become the real Janta ko Netas ki gaye gujreko Netas. What you say?
