INGO WATCH

The Kathmandu Post 27 July 2012 I t was good to know that the government finally decided to bring the funding system of INGOs under the purview of the Ministry of Finance, but it should have been done long ago (“Govt set to bring INGOs under MoF purview” July 25, Money 1) . This process will definitely help the government to directly monitor INGOs’ funding sources in and outside Nepal, but program budgeting and budget spending should also be closely watched to ensure the quality implementation and achievement of such development programs. Who knows?

Looking closely at the on-going fragile political situation of Nepal created by the major political parties, it seems that the post second Jana Andolan achievement may get slipped out of our hands sooner or later. They completely failed to draft new constitution in the last four years. What a shame act was this for them? They are still continuing to show their power hunger attitudes even at this politically fragile situation. Nepal is passing politically through an extremely difficult time. PUSH AND PULL

The Kathmandu Post 13 July 2012 Prashant Jha’s article clearly portrays the crux of the current political problem and puts forward much needed political solutions (“Preserving the agenda” July 11, Page 6) . Why do NC and UML and other fringe parties continue to muddle the political atmosphere by asking PM to resign without any valid reasons? What a childish act is this? The on-going political situation has been result of the tug of war between the parties with the end result being nation being pulled into political turmoil. If they continue to act irresponsibly, the chances of materializing the post Second Jana Andolan achievements seem dismal. Rai Biren Bnagdel Maharajgunj, Kathmandu .  on line jobs
