Social discontent and dissatisfaction have grown to an alarmingly high level in the last one and half decade which has weakened support for major parties and compelled the general public to look around for alternative political forces and asking the unconstitutionally dethroned King to save the nation. The nation has long struggled with issues of rampant corruption and poor governance, which have hampered the nation’s growth and political stability thus losing the public faith in political institutions. Kathmandu-An Open Museum Kathmandu is and has been for many years the centre of nation’s history, art, culture, and economy. It has a multi-ethnic population within a Hindu majority. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu. The city is considered the gateway to the several Himalayas and is home to several World Heritage Sites: the Durbar Square, Swayambhu Mahachaitya, Bouddha and Pashupatinath are some among the several heritages.  Balen Shah had promised to revive the architecture, infrastructure, and heritage of Kathmandu during his election campaign.
