Honey hunting is an age-old tradition here in Nepal. Local honey hunters show their exceptional skill by hanging themselves from cliffs as high as 300 meters using bamboo ladders and hemp ropes, while harvesting the honeycombs.Such risky traditional way of honey hunting is only practiced in the high mountain cliffs in some of the hilly areas of Nepal.

One can enjoy the spectacular honey hunting views on the steep bee cliffs to experience the tradition and cultural of the local people. Twice a year high in the Himalayan foothills of central Nepal, teams of men gather around cliffs that are home to the world's largest honeybee, Apis laborious.
High up in Nepal's mountains, groups of men risk their lives to harvest much sought-after wild honey from hives on cliffs. A minor slip could mean falling hundreds of feet (dozens of meters) and sure death for the hunters, who carefully navigated the steep and narrow openings on the mountain.
The most popular honey hunting destinations are located in Bhujung, Nai Chi, Pasgaon, Naya Gaun, Landruk, Ludhi and Dare.
