His sudden departure at the age of 60 has left a profound emptiness in the Nepali music scene and in the lives of those who knew and admired him.
Born
in Singapore in 1963, he was the youngest of five siblings born to the family
of a British Army. However, not much is known about his family. He began his
musical career after moving to Nepal in 1996.
Known for his immense impact on the Rock N’ Roll scene, Robin Tamang is a household name in the Nepali music industry and known for his hits like ‘Swatantra Jiwan’, ‘Keta Keti’, ‘Dam Maro Dam’, ‘Timro Din’ and ‘Ekta’ among others. He was also active in cinema acting. Most recently, he was featured in a film 'Chhadke-2'.
