No more political parties
Nepal and its people continue to suffer miserably in many aspects, including the current sky rocketing market prices of consumable foodstuffs and goods due to irresponsible, insensible and unaccountable government. All political parties, who had formed the government and run the nation in the past, also failed to prove their capabilities to lead the nation towards prosperity. Even the two-thirds majority government of the then NCP could not survive its full five-year term owing to its internal political feud. It seems now that the country is gradually losing its sovereignty due to seen and unseen political interference of external powers, owing to the unprincipled and indecisive political behavior of the senior leaders of the major political parties.
I have nothing to do with any political parties. Being a staunch supporter and believer in constitutional monarchy and multi-party democracy, considering the historical, traditional and geographical existence of Nepal, I have every respect for all the political parties. I presume the sovereign people elect their leaders belonging to different political parties, in line with the existing constitutional provisions, to represent them in the House of Representative (HoR). It was unfortunate to see the dethroning of the King unconstitutionally by the political parties 15 years ago. However, the pro-monarchist and other nationalist groups have been more vocal these days in denouncing their political acts, looking at the worsening political situations and social disharmony in the country.
For how long will the senior leaders continue to show irresponsible and egoistic political acts instead of being responsible and sensible leaders and lead the nation towards peace and prosperity? How long will they continue to blame each other for making the nation a semi-colonial state by showing their inclination towards this or that foreign power? Will the nation and people benefit or have they benefited from so many political parties, which are the political product of egoistic political acts of senior leaders “Bamdev Gautam launches new party” (THT, June 29, Page 1). A few days ago, Rabi Lamichhane launched a new party claiming to punish the corrupt after quitting his journalism profession.
