Adios to Ang Rita Sherpa

 Adios to Ang Rita Sherpa

It is a universal truth that no one is immortal in this materialistic world. One day s(h)e has to leave this wonder world either for heaven or hell which is a philosophical assumption and or a religious belief. However, somebody will be remembered for long for her or his noble deeds left behind.

Ang Rita Sherpa, popularly and widely known as Snow Leopard, was among them who has left behind his legacy of climbing Mount Everest 10 times in his life time without using bottled oxygen and will always be remembered for his audacious achievements in the mountaineering history. His record is still unbroken.

Born in the remote mountain village of Yillajung in eastern Nepal in 1948, Ang Rita was 15 years old when he first started working as a porter. He quickly rose through the ranks to become a guide - summiting some of Nepal's highest mountains. He was among the first Sherpa guides to receive international fame for his accomplishments and an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2017.

Nepal has lost a national hero and a climbing star and his death is a major loss for the country and for the climbing fraternity.
