Resolve
problem soon
We used to face many strikes and
bandh called by sister organizations of the political parties in the past to
press the government to fulfill their demands. Many sick and elderly people
lost their lives on the way to hospitals due to these irresponsible and
insensible acts. The political leadership in the country was occupied by senior
leaders of major political parties following the restoration of democracy. But
the common people were one way or the other had to suffer mentally, physically
and economically due to the irresponsible behaviour of the political parties.
The nation is now a republic and
has entered the federal structure since the last two years. The government has
restructured the civil servants’ positions and location based on the need of
this structure as per the constitution. However, the three tiers of government are
still facing difficulties to adjust their human resources to run governments
and serve the people. There has not been smooth placement of staff at all
levels. A few months ago, thousands of civil servants dared to stage protest
against the new civil service bill. After a series of talks between the
government and representatives of the civil servants, it seems now the problem
has been partially solved.
The government doctors are
protesting against the new provision in the Civil Servant Adjustment Act and
have stopped treating patients throughout the country. This situation has
severely affected the patients. It is surprising to see the government’s apathy
towards their demand. Threatening the agitating doctors could further worsen
the situation.
