Political uncertainty

It was a bit surprising to read the news report “Int’l community slam anti-poll activities” (THE, & Nov. 7 Page 5) and the concern shown by the international community with the four major political parties deciding to hold the 2 CA election unilaterally. If it was the parliamentary election, there would be no problem if any political parties decided to boycott the election. Why did not they bother to raise their voices about to bring the agitating parties on board?

For whom and what purpose for the 2 CA election is going to be held? Is it for Nepal and its people or for somebody else? Who is going to take the responsibility if the second CA failed to draft the new constitution? What happens in case the new constitution is drafted and not accepted by the agitating parties? Who is to be blamed for these consequences after holding this second CA election? The nation is passing through a very difficult political situation.

Considering the current political situation, I think the post second CA election situation will be more violent and difficult situation in the country. The general people are still not convinced that this election will be peacefully held. They even do not seem confident that the election will be held as scheduled. The upcoming nation wide bandh called by Maoist led agitating parties to disrupt the election should not be taken lightly by the government. Nobody will benefit if the situation turns worse. Time has come for the so called big political parties and the government to still use their inner conscience and act accordingly rather than acting as per somebody’s instruction.
