Time has come for the voters to think twice
before voting to their preferred political party and candidate considering the outcome
of 2008 CA election. They should deeply assess the roles played by their
favoured political parties during the last five years. They should try to find
out whether their votes were properly utilized for the well-being of the nation
and its people as promised by the political parties. It is hoped that this time
the voters will use their common sense and vote accordingly to the appropriate
candidate so their votes would not go wasted. Considering this, the end result
of this second CA election might show opposite trend to that of 2008 election
result as reported in “Will ’08 results indicate voting trends this time? (THT,
10 October, Page 1). However, who knows the inner conscience of each voter?
I think the voters must have now realized
that casting votes to a political party would not simply mean that they used
their voting rights. They should ask themselves that whether they voted to the
right candidate or not. In Nepal, voters are still needed to make aware of
their voting rights and properly exercising it using their conscience.
It should be known to everybody that the
votes cast during the first CA election were wasted. Keeping this in mind, all
the eligible voters are urged to cast their votes to the potential candidate
only who can really play crucial role in drafting the new constitution. However,
the outcome of the second CA election is doubtful considering the boycott of
Maoists led 32 political parties. Will the second CA be able to produce new
constitution in time and will that new constitution be acceptable to the
agitating parties? Considering all these, there seems to be huge concern of the
common people as to whether the second CA election will be held on scheduled or
not and if it is held, whether the outcome of the CA will be agreeable and
acceptable to all?
