Political interference in government owned
or affiliated organizations and institution is seemingly growing (“Political
Appointment” in TUTH August 15, Page 2). Why can’t the political parties
mind their own business and let educational and health institutions run free
from politics? Paying no attention to Dr. Govind KC’s fast-unto-death protest
against the political appointment to higher level officials at TUTH, political
leaders have appointed UML affiliated junior doctor as Dean. This is wrong not
only because the appointment is political, but also because clearly the doctor
is not capable of fulfilling the responsibilities of the office of the Dean.
