THE Kathmandu denizens had to forcefully observe yet another day valley closure called by 13 student unions affiliated to several political parties including Maoist against the government’s recent petrol price hike (“Tide of public fury against petro price hike, fuel shortage rises” January 25, Page one). The general people and students throughout the country were furious over the massive price hike of petroleum products and showing their frustrations out in the streets. But I am bit surprised as to why the major political parties simply asked their sister organizations to flex their muscles. Was it simply a political ploy being staged to deceive mass population who are furious over the government’s un-friendly decisions? The opposition should have instead raised the public-related issue in the parliament,
