PINCH OF HOPE
I felt a pinch of hope and relief to hear that progress on the peace process is possible at time when the deadline for both the peace and constitution drafting processes is approaching (“Peace progress possible: PM” Oct.12, Page 2). The PM’s promise to complete the peace process in 45 days has already been broken. The incompletion of the twin tasks are dragging the nation and its people towards political uncertainty.
I am still not certain that the PM will be able to convince the NC and UML and bring them on the board to complete both processes within the deadline. Listening to Sushil Koirala and Jhalanath Khanal, they don’t seem to have loosened their knots as of yet. But the time has come for them to be sincere and sensible towards the nation and their voters.
