Whaterver i am guided to do will be a success. I learn from every experiencs. I go from success to success and from glory to glory. My pathway is a series of stepping stones to ever greater successes. All is well in my world.

Flip-flopping

The Himalayan Times 28 September 2011 While listening to senior leaders of major parties, it seems that there is no way out for resolving the on-going political impasse unless and until there is a consensus among them on national agenda. However, they are the ones who do not seem interested in forging consensus putting forward different opinions on peace process or sometimes interpreting signed deal among them in their own ways. They oftern deny their own promises and commitments PM Dr. Babauram Bhattarai, seems now to be flip-flopping his own words about categorization of Maoists combatants within 45 days and interpreting it now in a different way as reported in “PM flip-flops on categorisation” (THT, Sept 27, Page 5). This is ridiculous. Saying emotionally something does not seem easy to fulfil. How come the PM himself is making the people fools? Is it an indication of him becoming failure in keeping his promises and commitments? Had the people expected too much from him? Had the...

PALESTINE PLEASE

www.ekantipur.com The Kathmandu Post 27 September 2011 Palestinians have been fighting for independence from Israeli occupation for the last 44 years and it was a bold step and risky step taken by Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas to submit a bid for statehood during the ongoing UN General Assembly (“Palestine submit UN statehood bid” Sept. 25, Page 4) . It is clear that Israeli would otherwise continue to defer the long- stalled negotiation with Palestine until US stands firmly behind it. It is then great to know that Prime Minister Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai has declared Nepal ’s commitment to endorse Palestine ’s claim for an independent state. Nepal should leave no stone unturned and play a proactive role in the UN to support Palestine in its claim for an independent state. Rai Biren Bangdel Maharjgunj, Kathmandu

How to change

In the infinity of life where I am all is perfect, whole, and complete. Change is the natural law of my life, I welcome change. I am willing to change. I choose to change my thinking. I choose to change the words I use. I move from the old to the new with ease and with joy. It is easier for me to forgive than I thought. Forgiving makes me feel free and light. It is with joy that I learn to love myself more and more. The more resentment I release, the more love I have to express. Changing my thoughts makes me feel good. I am learning to choose to make today a pleasure to experience. All is will in my world. (The above tips from Loise J Hay's book " You can heal your life")

Commemorative program

Shaila and I were lucky to be included in Gael's Mom's commemorative pragram at her place in Sanepa on 21 September evening. We were really shocked to hear the sad demise of Mom in her home in Scotland. She was, I think, 93. We were very fortunate to celebrate her 90th B'day in Nepal. She was absolutely kind hearted and loving Mom. We pray Almighty Lord to give her shelter in his heavenly abode

Austerity measures

21 September 2011 Austerity measures The recent decision of the government to put in place the austerity measures in line with the Austerity Regulation 2068, as reported in “Ministers get fiat to shift gears” (THT, Sept. 20, Page 1), seemed appropriate in terms of the national economic situation. However, it is yet to be seen as to how far the government would be able to strictly implement it. Such measures, although announced in the previous years also, remained merely on papers due to the lack of political commitment of the previous governments. The country had to financially bleed heavily many times due to traditional thinking and bossy nature of the previous ministers who were reluctant to take any austerity measures. Even the parliamentarians were, at one time, given the liberty to import expensive vehicles at nominal custom duties. The poor country had to spend huge amount of money simply for the fancy vehicles for the Prime Ministers and ministers. They had shown themselves to ...

CONFUSED GOVT

The Kathmandu Post 19 September 2011 The people are becoming increasingly confused by political party leaders interpreting the deal signed among them in their own ways in forming the new government ( “Four–Point pact with Morcha unacceptable” Sept.18 Page 2) . Earlier, five-point deal signed between UML chairperson Jhala Nath Khanal and Maoist Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal were interpreted very differently by their fellow party leaders. Now, some of the Maoist leaders themselves are sitting in the front rows of the government and criticizing and objecting the four-point deal signed between their party and Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha even though there has already been agreement on a new government under the leadership of Babu Ram Bhattarai . Why do these leaders create such confusions among the people? It is a wonder why they don’t first agree on deals within the party ranks and files before going to sign on the deal with another political force. They must know that it is the p...

GOOD JOB

It was good to know that the business houses selling substandard foods and sweets were caught red handed for their wrongdoings and playing with the health of the thousands of consumers. Both the Department of Commerce (DoC) and Consumer Forum (CF) deserves appreciation for their watchful acts. It seems that these traders might have been selling such adulterated foods and sweets for so many years in the past but to nobody’s notice. They should be lawfully punished if they are found guilty after receiving the lab report from the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control. Moreover, DoC and CF should be vigilant throughout the year rather than being active only during festival times.

HIGH HOPES

Soon after Dr. Baburam Bhattarai (BRB) assumed his office as the new Prime Minister, the people of all walks of lives have kept their eyes and ears opened to see and hear both peace and new statute processes completed within the dead line. There seem both challenges and opportunities for him in the days ahead. If he failed in his mission, as promised to the people before and after becoming PM, there could be a huge political setback for him in the days ahead. Both NC and UML, who have promised to play constructive opposition roles, should cooperate with him and support his positive moves in resolving the outstanding political issues. Otherwise, both the processes will remain incomplete pushing the nation further into deep political crisis out of which nobody would escape unaffected,

HEALTHY POLITICS

The Himalayan Times 12 September 2011 I wonder if the term “healthy politics” can be applied to the present political context of Nepal , which is passing through a highly explosive situation. We talk a lot about consensus politics these days while the major political parties remain engrossed in party politics rather than playing politics for national cause. Yes, they have their own political ideologies, principles and manifestos which cannot be undermined and ignored by the leaders. However, forging consensus over the national issues could also be of mutual interest and prime responsibilities of the political parties. Politics is also interpreted as the social work that is geared towards the well being of the people and the country. Is politics meant only to be the Prime Ministers, ministers or parliamentarians for pocketing the perks and benefits out of the people’s tax-paid money? If democracy is to properly work, political parties representing different sections of the population ...

What I Believe

I am going through Louise J. Hay's book " YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE ". I am completely entrenched now in this book. This book has completely fascinated me with all the practical tips that would be essential in healing your life. At the end of each chapter, the author has put her tips for the readers to use in his/her daily lives. “In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete. I believe in a power for greater than I am That flows through me very moment of every day. I open myself to the wisdom within, knowing that there is only One Intelligence in this Universe. Out of this One Intelligence comes all the answers, all the solutions, all the healings, all the new creations. I trust this Power and intelligence, knowing that whatever I need to know is revealed to me, and that whatever I need comes to me in the right time, space, and sequence. All is well in my world.” I will continue to post other tips from this book in the days to come.
